Theft of security deposit

Ented his house for 1 week. Several products in disrepair and we really set a couple of things for him — garagedoor and many shades. He thanked us by not returning our safety deposit. He doesn't return our calls or emails. Don't conduct business with this particular man! We hired the house in August. It is March with no safety deposit.
