Over charge

I am a single person who resides in a house of 1590 square feet. I purchased the home in april. My utility bill in may was 199.91 which was acceptable, my utility bill in june 08 was 101.19 which was better. My utility bill in june 08 was 826.38 which was ridicilous. I contacted edison and advised i was on vacation for a week in that time frame and there was no way possible my bill could go up so high and i live alone. The lady on the other end nonchlantly said "how old is your refrigerator" i angirly replied a month older than last month. They were of no help and pretty much advised pay it or get shut off. What can i do
