Would have thrown out door but did not give me chance - carpet

I had empire come out and wanted some new carpet in 3 bedrooms, i am a builder and understand people need to make a living. This saleswomen came in very professional, good presentation. No problem, then when i said we need to think about it. She went ballistic WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU WANT TO THINK. You thinking about what, not buying.in the most nasty attitude. I said hey you do not speak to my wife or I like that. We need to think about it, The rant continued on. She wrote price on back of biz card and got up and left. I was dumfounded, never been spoken to like that from a salesperson.

I was going to call Empire, but i did not. Few days go by they called me nice guy Oscar. Told him story of our appointment, he could not beilive it. Nice guy, said give us a chance let us send someone out (I said not her) he said of course i understand. So I gave them a chance. Day later walked outside and the same saleswomen was in driveway. I said what are you doing here? She said i have an appt... I said not with me you dont. Then she yelled out DO YOU HAVE A PROBLEM WITH ME. I said yes your in my driveway. She left. I called Oscar, the guy felt bad, he said that had to be some kind of mix up... Let me send someone and I will make sure you get best price possible, even extra discount. I said Ok Send what you want but not her.

Set a appointment, wife gets call from rep coming out few hours before appt and just wanted to check in let us know he was on way. Its hour plus drive. He gets there on time, started talking a bit in driveway, asked where i was from due to my accent. Chatted about 10 min just about famlies where from, what kind of business was i in. Took a sincere interest and we shared some common business challenges.

He came in, talked to my wife for a bit. Measured rooms, he actually came up with less sq feet by 40. From my measure, other rep would not tell us the sq ft or yd. Super professional, knew his stuff, i threw a coulpe curve balls on what if we have a crack in floor. He knew what to do as I do as well. 180 degree change in just the conversation. I felt like i knew the guy for 20 years. He stayed 2 hours, showed us some blinds. I said what you trying to sell us more. Best line " Absoultly, I am here to make you comfortable doing business with us, and I want more busniess. But I have to earn it"
Paper work was about 10 minutes, gave me 20 cards, said if you would reccomend me after all is done, he would be grateful if I passed the word. And of course you get something out of it you pass the card I do the work. Well im buiding 46 townhomes and this guy gets a shot. Super sharp, not sure why he is slinging flooring. Im sold, i guess you just need to get the right person. I am a tough buyer, and this guy knew how to handle me (he was controlling me but letting me feel in control) Same thing I do. - So if you need flooring in central florida - ask for rep Jeff. He did say its not over till installation is done and you are 100% satisfied. So Oscar thank you for calling me now we see how the installation goes. Stayed tuned. More impressive was the guy new the whole company history how they started as a slip cover business, had a good laugh cause my mother prob bought from empire, we lived in Chicago in the 60's for a bit - I hated those plastic covers.
