A typed checked that said it didn't require a signature was discovered in my 87 year old dads bank statement. I have contacted the company numerous times since July. I was told the money would be deposited back into his account within 21 days. It was not. They tell me to wait and see if it gets deposited and the last 3 times I had called, they said to call back weekly. This alone was irritating, and the fact that the phone number they had written on the check was being answered by a 3rd party. Today when I called, I was told they had filed bankruptcy and there would be no way to now receive a refund. They said the only thing we could maybe do would be to dispute with the bank. This is not our banks fault but a criminal action. They stole from his account and many others it sounds like, and we have no recourse.
