Fry's defective TV - out fo box failure - Coby TV

Purchased TV for a gift - explained to sales that gift would not be opened for appx. 45 days. Was no problem.gift was opened this weekend and TV failed after 6 hours use, will not turn on. Called Fry's - they stated that there is no exchange because past 30 day purchase. Do not want money back only want a working TV since this failed within 24 hour of being opened and used.
