8 days still no power - and only a fuse is needed!

Our block of North Drive in Valley Stream has been with no power since Monday night October 29th due to the hurrican Sandy storm. For days we have been trying to contact LIPA with no success. There have been NO LIPA trucks in site for days. Finally we spotted a group of LIPA workers and was told that we do not have power because of a fuse in the pole. They said it was something simple and is a "ticket" issue. I was told that a ticket issue is routine and not necessary. However, we are not at the time important because they are working with the Rockaways. "we are not important". We have families with small children in almost all homes, elderly people, and sick people all without heat, electricity and warm food BUT LIPA SAYS WE ARE NOT IMPORTANT. We pay our bills and something so simple that can help so many families will not be done. Something is very wrong with this. A simple task that would take less then 30 minutes wont be down. I need help. I dont know where to turn at this point. But I will not rest until someone helps us and until LIPA answers for there incompetency.
