No returns for christmas gifts Ripoff

Shops, Products, Services

Our children received christmas gifts purchased by a family member who is stationed in IRAQ. These were bought on leave and the kids opened them on christmas. My son received a guitar, and it was decided that it would not be opened as he is already learning the piano for the last four years and the trumpet. He did not want to learn guitar. We took it to Target to exchange, they wanted the receipt, we said it was a gift. They wanted a CC number, I emailed my wife's sister and she said all the gifts were purchased cash, in Texas, when she returned to FT. Hood, she would look for the receipts or gift receipts. She wont be returning again for at least six months, Target return policy is for up to ninety days, now we have another problem. We explained this to the returns, they told us to pick something of even or greater value, we did so and then was told they would not exchange anything for us, because the guitar was over $100 dollars. Why send us out to let the kid pick something else and then say no? I dont understand these stores anymore, the box is unopened, and they are the only ones who sell these guitars. Do they think we stole it? This box is huge, obviously they do not want anymore business from us.
