Screwed out of most of security deposit

I rented an apartment for 3 years in Hewlett Ny from Fairfield Properties. Rent was $1800 a month plus 1 month security deposit. I moved out at the end of June being told i would receive my securtiy deposit back in 60 days. Not only did i not receive my check for 3 months and 3 weeks, Fairfield deducted a little over $1000 for "real estate taxes". A complete jerk job. As i was told, "you should have read the fine print". Fairfield was very misleading and i strongly recommend that anyone looking to rent from this company, be very very aware. If your rent is 11 dyas late, you will have an eviction notice on your front door, not to mention papers for yuo to appear in court for eviction. The word that comes to my mind about this company is that they are SCUMBAGS.
