Fairfield apartments lease and security deposit ripoff

This company has apartment locations all over long island. I rented an apartment from them for about 12 months and then extended for 3 months. Before i left i had a company come in and clean all the carpets in the apartment. I did this because i wanted no issues for when it was time to get my security deposit back. They decided to go and change the carpets after i left so they kept my security deposit. Mind you i had them cleaned and they were in good condition... So i let it go and chalked it up to a loss. But then they proceeded to bill me for the carpets... Even though they kept almost 1600 in security... They took me to court without my knowledge and got a judgement against me... They want another 1600... Now the bill is accruing interest... Lawyers keep sending me letters... Isn't security what this sort of thing is for? Pay the security just in case something happens when u leave... Well nothing was actually wrong and they kept it anyway and i get screwed with a carpet bill... What a company!!! Also the company that cleaned my carpets was owned by a gentleman who lived in the complex also... The same exact thing happened to him... I wonder if his carpets needed to be replaced? I smell scam... And i wonder how many times this has happened. I will go to jail before i give these crooks a cent... The sheriff came by to collect and was amazed on how this company does business... I pray to god potential renters read this before they sign that lease with these crooks.
