I'm a yacht broker and someone emailed me regarding one of my listings by the name of Kin Hung. He then said he was sending a check from his invesment broker "John Owen" and gave me his phone number (Personal Info Removed). I called him and the guy answered so I thought maybe it was for real. About a week later I got a check for 198k. The agreed selling price was 195k and I could tell immediately the check was fake. I strung him along for a while until finally he said his wife was divorcing him and he needed 98k back. I said I couldn't because I already paid for the boat! He was pissed. Then I said I could get the money back but needed a US bank account to send the money because intl bank transfers were expensive and he gave me one registered to a Chase Bank Account in Georgia. The authorities were still not interested in tracking this person down so I gave up.
