Damaged Goods - 42 inch flat screen

I received a prize of a 42" Insignia Plasma TV at a University of Memphis basketball game. Pick the TV up at the Memphis Wolfchase store. Kept it in the box in my dinner room for several months in order to give it to my son for Christmas. When we unboxed the TV today we noticed the screen was cracked. No damage to the box. Nothing happened to the tv while in my possesion. The lady at the Wolfchase store basically said "tough". Since it has been several months there is nothing they can do. I then said what about the two year warranty and was told that does not cover cracked screen. Based on the level of customer service I received in this case I will not buy or recommend anyone buy anything from Best Buy. I plan to load the TV on the back of my truck, still in the box, put a sign on the box explaining the stores lack of customer service and park the truck in front of the store. May not matter but may make some folks think twice about buying.
