Miscellaneous

I received a cold sell phone call (am in the UK) from Tech Pro Support.co.uk saying that they were connected/approved by microsoft to conact people known to have computors with dangerous viruses in them. I was told that they had all my details, knew everything about me. All the voices sounded Asian but the people had English names like Kelly Smith and Michael Anderson. Stupidly I feel for the call as I thought they were connected to another company I had used. I was told they would email me an invoice which has not happened. I was told my Bank would call to verify the payment... They didn't. I received a call from someone on an 0203 number who said he was in Vancover Canada from a company called Global PC Expert INc. When I called the number he gave me to call I got someone who was obviously on a city street (could hear honking horns) and said he was in London.

I was feeling so nervous once I realised my blunder that I found an expert to scan my hard drive through the night. He found no problems other than a virus 'Win32/FakeVimes' "which is a family of programmes that claims to scan for Malware and displays fake warnings of 'malicious programs and viruses'
I discovered from the expert that these cold sell companies can put up fake information on your screen.

I am in the process of trying to get a refund. They are becoiming very irritated with me and rude.
