I put in a application to lease an apt. I told the mngr. Alice, 3X that I had a felony in 1994 and even wrote down in detail (on the app.) the explanation of this situation. She told me that she saw no problem as she did all the apps. She called me and told me there was a problem with my birthdate on the background check. I then faxed her ($3) a copy of my DL and SS card;to prove that I was M. Cooper. She later called me and told me I was denied because there was a discrepancy (red flag) about the birthdate. Despite the fact that she told me she was the mngr. And was the one to make the decision - she had to forward it to the operation mngr. Contrary to what she told me earlier. My complaint is such that I feel there was much misrepresentation in what she originally said and that I was scammed. She took my $25 app. Fee when I had informed her of my situation on 3 occassions. I wonder how often this is done? Taking my application under false pretenses.
