Found a listing on Craigs List for designer condo on the beach in Daytona Florida. I emailed the posting and a gave my phone number to call to get more information. They emailed me back and told me the call center was down and could only communicate via email or text. I kept on asking lots of questions like what was the name of the building, address, unit number etc... She sent me the name of the condo (Wyndham Daytona) and the address and the unit#. We called the building and they did not have that unit number and the address she gave was not the Wyndham. Lots of red flags. We realize it was a scam and did not continue the emails, but she was persistent and wanted us to sign and send a money gram (another red flag!) for $450.00 and the balance upon arrival to amount to $900.00. The leasing agreement wanted the money gram to be made out to a Peggy Law who lives in Jacksonville Florida. We played along with it and told her no unit # was on the rental agreement and all she said was "it is the same one and when we pay she will put the # on the receipt". Hope this helps others from getting scammed. Never send money grams, money orders or wired money.
