Lifetime Spending Limit of $6500 and Verification Demands

I just found out you have a LIFETIME spending limit! I got a notice that I was near my limit. I said, "I am nowhere near the limit for this month." That is when I found out I had a lifetime limit of $6500.

To lift the limit, I had to be VERIFIED. They wanted my bank information, or I could get a PayPal credit card. I said, "NO WAY!"

I have done business with them for over 10 years, and they have had orders shipped to the SAME address for over 7 years. My AMEX has NEVER turned down a purchase. So what more do they need to verify me? They want access to your bank account so they can pull the money directly. AMEX probably charges them for the use. Too bad!

I told them to either lift the limit OR close the account. And of course you are talking to people who do NOT use English as their main language.
