I answered my door to two young men. They were in a contest to win a trip to Italy and with my help, they could win today. They showed me magazines that i could purchase for our troops overseas. I didn't realize the huge mark up until the sales slips were being written. When the total was over 150.00, i was told that they could only accept a check for 150.00 and the remaining amount had to be cash or from another checking account. They pushed me to go to the ATM for cash. I questioned this several times and they said that would loose points if i decreased my order or gave them a check from only one account. They were friendly, very talkative and really tried to pry personal information from me. When i told them that i was a veteran, they jumped for joy, because that meant extra points. When i told them that i was a nurse they again jumped for joy, for that also meant extra points. I was getting all wrapped up in their success! I really tried not to believe them but they were polished. The main guy was blonde, light eyes, 5'8" and thin. His partner in crime was in training, dark hair, eyes, and same build. They were from CA or the South. They put a sticker on my door to keep away the girls that they were competing against. I never thought to look up the web site, but when i received the magazines i ordered for our overseas troops yesterday, I finally put it all together. What a fool i was and what a shame that these young men are so good at crime before the age of 20. I have learned my lesson!
