I was outside working when a young man came to the yard. He said he was selling magazines to send to men and women in the armed services. He was in a contest to win points for a trip to Italy before he entered the USMC. He had a way with words and was very charming, clean and well dressed.

He was selling magazines to send to the troops overseas - for both men and women. Each magazine was worth so many points - the most points wins the trip to Italy and of course, the service men and women would get the magazines.
