Let the buyer beware of this attorney!

In my opinion, mine lange's billing practices are abusive and her contract is deceptive and unethical. Mine lange’s fees are unconscionable and do not fairly represent the lack of results obtained.

In my experience, mine lange’s code of professional responsibility is inconsistent with the public's expectations of professional responsibility. Mine lange’s unethical conduct, contract breach and unsatisfactory services are at the core of my multiple issues with mine lange from lange & lange pa.

In summary my experience with mine lange from lange & lange pa was as follows:

1) prior to meeting with mine lange for our initial consultation, i was told in writing that she would explain her billing to me when we met in person.

2) upon meeting with mine lange in person and signing a contract with lange & lange, i was told that she could resolve my issue for $5,000.00 and that i must provide her with a $5,000.00 non-refundable deposit. After some research, i now know that the florida bar does not support non-refundable deposits.

3) months later, i found out that mine lange billed me for our initial consultation at $375.00 per hour. We never discussed that i would be billed for mine lange to perform her company's marketing and sales routine on my time and money. The contract did not allow for this billing.

4) i was billed for incremental billing not allowed for or described in the contract. The contract states i would be billed $ 375.00 "per hour". I was billed for time increments randomly assigned by mine lange and never discussed or agreed to my me. The billing was often $37.50 a minute which is equivalent to $2250.00 "per hour".

5) the contract states i would receive "mostly monthly billings". I never received a single statement of my account until months later when i asked for a statement.By that time, mine lange had taken $4,000.00 out of my $5,000.00 deposit without ever notifying me that she had taken dollar one from my trust account.

6) after taking $4,000.00 out of my trust fund without notifying me, mine lange asked for $3,000.00 more.

7) when i told mine lange that i had nothing to show for the $4,000.00 that she billed me for already... She fired me immediately without notice or cause and refused to refund my $4,000.00, refer me to another attorney or assist me until i could find another attorney.

8) after further research, i found that the services i contacted lange & lange for can be purchased for a couple hundred dollars through the county court house.

My advise to the public is..."let the buyer be ware". Choosing the wrong attorney is a serious mistake. They are protected by florida statutes so don't expect any help from your attorney general or the division of consumer services... You are on your own!

In my opinion, this company's attorney's practices are unethical, inefficient, ineffective and deceptive.

As a final note to illustrate this attorney's / law firm's attention to detail, the return address on their business envelope is incorrect and different from their letter head and they refer to themselves as "attotney's at law".
