Miscellaneous

We got a call from a pollster focusing on our reading habits. The next day, michael ruscov (spelling?) called us to say that, for answering the pollster, we would receive the following: a $300 credit at several major retail stores, e.G. Walmart, etc.; that fmc's credit card (last 4 numbers of which were - 9781) would be charged $49.50/month for 5 magazines that we would receive for 24 months, free of charge; and, that we would receive a tracking number and other info by mail. He then asked me to answer questions posed by a recording, which i did. After the recording i told him the questions were possed as if i was taking responsibility for the magazines. He assured me that their credit card would be used.
After realizing that this was too good to be true, we phoned 1-888 788-5402 and told the rep that we wanted to cancel the subscription and were told it would be cancelled. Since then, we have called that same number to confirm the cancellation. But, all we got was a recorded message to leave a message, which we did asking for a return call. We have repeated this 4 times, without a response. Clearly this a not-so-cleaver scam. Can't believe i'm so gullible!
