Bought a black handbag described as 'leather' directly from Michaelkors.com. Product no: MKS_V0RB5 (women Top-Handle Totoe Leather Bos Taurus). Since they dont ship directly to Malaysia, I used their 'chat assistance' provided by the website for shipment to destinations not listed. Ordered the handbag and paid for it. Received the bag the following week (within 5 days). Paid the duties due to Malaysian Customs. Opened the package and the box and bag was reeking with plastic smell. The bag looks flimsy. Upon closer inspection, there is a tiny spot on the flap of the handbag which is peeling off showing the 'brown' color underneath, which i think shouldn't have happened if the bag is made of real leather as implied by the website. There is also a white patch at the handle, which i think is also the result of 'leather' peeling off showing the real material underneath.
Went back into the website, the bag I bought is no longer listed. Engaged the 'chat service' I asked the assistant to assist me to check on the description of MKS_V0RB5 but was told that it is no longer available - discontinued. Wanted to send the bag back, but found out that the courier parcel charges for sending the handbag back is exorbitant.
I am really disappointed with the purchase. With a lot of irresponsible sellers selling fakes and replicas in the internet is one of the reasons why i bought my handbag from reputable website, directly from reputable designer without any discount on full price!
I wrote to customerservice@michealkors 2 days ago (26th March) highlighting my concerns, hoping that I could send the handbag back with full refund plus shipping, but until today, there is yet to be a reply. I am disgusted that a reputable company such as MichaelKors does not stand behind their products and worst of all resorted to 'misleading advertising' to con potential bag lovers!
