We DID get our Chica Doll, but it took a really long time

After running across this discussion, I figured I'd jump in with my own experience. I run a "daddy blog" and website called THE ROCK FATHER™, so anyone with questions to my legitimacy can contact me directly through my site to verify. I ordered a Chica Doll, and we DID receive it. But it took MONTHS.

I initially ordered Chica in August (before Sprout started selling their "official" plush) with the intention of having it delivered in time for Christmas. I figured it would arrive around Halloween, then be stashed away until the proper season (I like to plan ahead). Like many of you, I started getting nervous when the puppet never arrived. I too, emailed repeatedly and got a few stories about "being sick, " being "backed up, " having her daughter help, etc. After following up every few weeks, I really started twisting the screws when we hit December. Then on December 17th Debbie emailed me with a tracking number, and on the 19th, Chica arrived.

I emailed Debbie back to tell her how great the doll/puppet/plush (it's all of the above) is, and despite the high price, long wait, and aggravation - I really am glad that we were able to get this.

My thinking is that Mrs. Kirkpatrick just overextends herself and takes too many orders for a one-woman show to handle. Then we see what kind of mess she gets into. Where some of you are calling out "fraud, " I certainly can't say that. Yes, it's a poor way to run a business, but in the end - I did receive the doll we paid for, and my little girl did get it for Christmas (it was her "big" gift).

Looking through some of the complaints on here, I do have to question whether or not I got bumped ahead in Debbie's queue based upon my personal reputation. While my foray into "daddy blogging" is pretty new (less than a year), I've been around as a writer and commentator, and have been known to be a hothead that can stir up a storm. I even had to mention this to my wife, as it seemed weird timewise that there's a possibility that I received a doll but may have ordered later than some folks that ordered ones and still haven't received them.

I just wanted to share my experience - lengthy, pricey, irritating - but we did get the item in the end.
