Miscellaneous

Amanda Gumns and another girl college age came to the door in the evening stating that they were selling magazines for a softball trip and competition. They said that they would also do a project for us around the house. They said the company would call to verify. Which they never did. She said at that time we could refuse the magazine the magazine, but that they would still receive their money. That alone should have sent up a red flag for me.

She said that her mom had said they should help people out and she would call to make sure they did what they said she never did. She said her dad had been a soldier and suggested that they donate the magazines to the vet hospital which was what everyone else had done. Since I read magazines I said I wanted the subscription. Now I know why she suggested that... So we would never figure out it was a scam.

The magazine never showed up obviously. The sad thing is I will never give to anyone who comes to the door again.
