Returned U-verse Equipment Late, Charges Sent to Collections

I returned their uverse equipment. It might have been a week late, but I still returned it. I have the UPS tracking number, called them more then 4 times and now they have forwarded the charges to collection. I have talked to collections and they stated they will also send ATT a letter of my situation to drop charges.
