Card declined with 811.00 balance after raising deposits

I have been using my card for over 2 years. I received a letter in the mail telling me to raise my deposits and make more purchases, and then I would not have to pay a monthly fee. I did this, and Green Dot blocked my card.

I found out when I went to make a purchase and was declined with an 811.00 balance. How embarrassing. After spending 3 hours of my time and waiting 5 days for an answer, they said they had canceled my card. All of this happened after they told me, in writing, to do this.

I received no warning. I found out only because I tried to make a purchase and was declined. If I had been out of town, I would have been stranded.
