What good is a gift card you can't use?

We received a Visa Green Dot gift card as a gift. Every where I try to use it it comes back declined or not activated. I called the company, it is active. Even tho I can't use it the company is charging a monthly fee just to carry the stupid unuseable card in my purse! So my $50 gift card is now only worth $38.10. Try as you might you can not find an address to write a complaint. Do not-whatever you do-buy this card for yourself or as a gift! It is a screw job from the word go!
Rip off is to put it mildly! Just think if you had gotten this card for vacation, put all your spending money onto this card, and then you have these problems? Wouldn't that be nice? Pretty sure that would take care of the fun on your vacation.
I called the 800# and both times I was told a different story. After several minutes of being a VERY unhappy customer, I was told they would reinstate the service chg. Guess that is yet to be seen-the next time I try to use it. I asked for some sort of confirmation on that call-I was told there was no confirmation they could give me-makes me not real hopeful!
Save yourself a major headache! DON'T buy this card! It's a ripoff&a screw job!
