Depending on what you want to use these cards for; will depend on if they are usable or not for the first 14 days. You can't find that out until the card is activated, and Once the card is activated your stuck with it.

I bought this card specifically to purchase credits for a telephony service I have on my PC. Little did I know that until you recieve your perminant card you can not make any purchases that are in foreign countries. When it comes to buying products online you'd be suprised how much you purchase from foreign countries.

My first charge to the Walmart Money Card was denied. The web site where I was making my purchase from had an error code. I called Walmart Money Card Center to ask if they knew why the transaction was denied, and I was told that I am unable to make foreign purchases with the card until I recieve the perminant card - (Which is permission for incurral of monthly charges) which would be sent out to me in 7 days from the time of my purchase of the Walmart Money Card.

Green Dot Corporation is the company that sponsors the card - a subsidary of the GE Corporation. These cards are set up to maximize fees and monthly charges from Green Dot to eat up the funds on them, leaving less for the purchaser to make purchases with.

I bought this card for something specific. It is not possible for me to purchase telephony minutes except with a debit or credit card online. I needed the card for immediate usage, not to have to waite 14 days in order to be able to use it. I do everything that I can not to give my money away. I will never buy another Walmart Money Card. I found other items locally that I needed and spent the entire balance so that I would not give away another $3 to this corporation. I only had this card for three days. I called Walmart Money Card Center and terminated the account after I had spent all the funds on it in order for them not to get the $3 monthly card maintenance fee. I only wanted this card for a one time use, which I did not get.

If you are not a person who just wants the card to make false impressions on people, and have a real need for a way to pay for electronic money transfers for products or services my advice is to stay away from purchasing any of these prepaid credit cards. Their only interest is making money off of you.
