Michael Dombroski Construction Stole our money

Did a house for a buddy of ours. We gave him a price and the Michael Dombroski took our proposal and included it in the contract. We gave the Michael Dombroski the invoice. Bank paid Michael Dombroski in the draws and we never got paid.

Had a lawyer after him to set up 4 payments, and for him to sign an agreement for a judgement for failure to pay. He wouldn't sign, but he did verbally agree to make payments of $625/week. He is doing that with a couple other subs and suppliers. He made 2 payments only and never heard from him again.

HVAC guy is into him for $40k
Electrician for $16k
Foundation contractor for $35k
Flat work mason for $27k
Excavating Contractor for $30k
Well driller for?
Stone mason for 5 houses
Plumber and numerous other sub-contractors and suppliers.

Everyone calls this guy all the time and he never answers his phone. Our buddy (the homeowner) calls him too and he won't return his phone calls either. He still has repairs to make on the house yet and will not return his phone calls.

Got a letter last week and he filed Chapter 7 on Feb. 7th.

Did a background search on him, he owns a $750K house in Naples, Fl., (2) $300,000 houses near him and (3) lots. He also foreclosed on a house in 1994 and has several civil suits and liens from back then.

I open the paper yesterday and see an ad for his company, only it is now under a different name. He filed chapter 7 last week and now has a new business under an LLC. Amazing how you can bankrupt one business and open another in less than 1 week.
