Venture Services or John McHale

Miscellaneous

I purchased their minimum number (200) of gas certificates that I could sell for up to $19.95 each. Then the person who purchased it from me was to fill it out requesting which gas station they wanted a $100 gift card for. They would receive 2 more of the same, plus the person would choose a $25 gift card from a selection of common stores (Walmart, etc.) Being too busy I never got around to selling any although I did advertise on Craigslist till it expired.
On May 5 I received a letter from a law firm that they were representing them and that "due to contractual breaches by some of VSI's business partners, VSI can no longer redeem certificates offered..." The letter ordered that I immediately stop selling these certificates and return them to such and such address and I would receive free replacement certificates within 7-10 days of receiving the unsold ones. When after a long time and I did not receive anything I emailed the law firm about it and found out that basically the case was closed and I would get no replacement certs. I asked about getting my money back and the attorney said there was no money for refunds. I'm sure these folks are out of business (prob. Filed bankruptcy), but be aware of this business name and person in case they crop up with another scammy idea.
