I was stupid enough to have Americorp Builders talk me into building my dream house with them. They were so courteous and professional (what a smoke screen). I borrowed money from my retirement benefit to build my first home in 2008. This was a dream come true for me and my family. They provided me with all the information I needed to start building my home. I signed all the contracts, got my plans and sat with Rick to get the design and do all the floor planning, pick out the fixtures and countertops and all the appliances, etc and now to get to the ripoff part.

They did not start building my home until 2009. The bank refused to extend my loan in 2010 because Americorp did not provide enough documentation to support their reasons for not building my home at the allotted time. I found out that Americorp had three other houses that they did not finish and the homeowners where in the same situation as me.

Americorp was nice enough to get me a lawyer to try to extend my loan and that was a disaster (I found out that the lawyer were friends with Rick). After months of waiting the lawyer send me a letter telling me that Americorp filed for bankruptcy. I lost all my money and now I'm homeless because my unfinished dream house is now in foreclosure.
