OGE Energy Corp
Delayed Billing

Miscellaneous

I had set up an electronic payment through Midfirst Bank (my bank) to OG&E for the due date of the bill in the amount of $81.46 (the total amount) based on the bill that was due on November 9 (this included the portion that was part of the previous payment arrangment). That brought me current, and the next part of the installment was $43.68, which was to be paid with the next billing.

I received a notice in the mail on November 15 (Tuesday) indicating that I had RENEGED with a cut-off notice for the amount of $126.03. I had not reneged on the payment arrangement, and I object for being penalized because the processing time at OG&E is slow. It is not my fault that your company did not process this $81.46 payment until November 14. That is not my fault; therefore, it should not be deemed to be late on my part. The electronic payment was given to your company on the due date of November 9.

I have always paid my bills to OG&E over the past 25 years with very few minimal delays, and this one was on time. I again object to being penalized for your slow computer processing time. I will send the additional $43.68 before November 23, but the cut-off notice is petty on your part, silly, and it angers me. I upheld my end of the bargain and paid the $81.46 on time.
