Miscellaneous

I was having a lot of windows problems - constant errors. On September 12, I received a call from what sounded like an Indian man who said he was was Windows Customer Care. He said he noticed that I was getting numerous errors from Windows. Since it was happening, I believed him (first mistake). At first I told him that I did not trust him but he sounded so believable. He said he can fix my problem - he said if I get a lifetime membership, I would be able to get my computer maintained monthly, gave me AFT Cleaner, RevoUninstaller, Winrar, etc. I also received an agreement by email saying that I had a membership for life. He got into my computer and did a whole bunch of things. The next day, I went on my computer and things have not improved. I knew my computer was infected before I even received this call so I ended up purchasing a new computer. On November 11, I tried to call the number on this agreement - number was not valid so I tried to email them and the email I sent was invalid - so I panicked and new at that point, it was a scam. So I am now out of $243.61. This charge was through PayPal Epsilonwebd.in October, I received 2 other charges on on Credit Card from EPM IB Softservices.com totalling about $550.00 US. Those charges were disbuted and taken off. At the time, it didn't clink in until November 11 when I tried to contact what I thought was Windows Customer Care. I strongly believe that whoever scammed me, made those charges on my credit card as well.
