Sent pop-up stating my computer was infected and I needed Personal Antivirus

Internet & Web

I was online and received a "microsoft windows-looking" pop-up that said, critical alert! Your computer has been infected with trojans and worms and that I needed to intiate my personal antivirus.

I had never seen this particular pop-up before, but because of my limited computer knowledge and that I thought it was being inititiated from within my windows program I bought it. My charge was $79.90

I was sent a confirmation email from: info@mailingsimple.com
It stated that this was a one-time charge and that it would appear on my credit card statement as witabtt.com It also included an order I.D. Number and a registration key. The contact information for Customer Support Service listed 888-318-0062 or support@mailingsimple.com

I then googled mailingsimple and was directed to complaint.
