Ripoff dishonest fraudulent billing

I get this bill in the mail for $34.65 from a company called 900 Direct. It does not say what the bill is for it just basically says please remit payment. So I decided to call them to see what the bill was for. They tell me that someone in my house called a sex hotline. I said if this is true then tell me the time and date. They told me that it was January 15th at 1:30pm. I am a single mother and I was at work at my 7 year old son was at school at this time. So I tell them this and they told me that they know someone called from my phone number.

I asked to have the conversation that took place and they told me that all they have is like a caller ID system and my number is the number that came across it. I said so you mean to tell me that someone came in to my house while I was at work and they said yes it sounds like it. I asked if I could send a letter from my work verifying that I was there that day and they told me it was not suffecient. So now I have to decide rather to pay the bill or just let them keep sending me bills...
