Return refund window passed after seller moved without notice

I used to enjoy eBaying as a senior citizen, but I have never trusted eBay or PayPal when it comes to the problems I have had. They lie and pass you from one person to the other. They steal (PayPal) as much as they give back to eBay buyers, which is all I do. I recently bought a ladies' top from a seller in Fort Myers, FL, off eBay and paid through PayPal, as insisted. Oh yes, my purchase would be protected - not true! I returned the top within 2 hours after it arrived because it was too small. I sent it back to Fort Myers with tracking, and the seller moved to Louisville, Kentucky, without replying to one of my emails asking, "Have you received the top back yet?"

Well, no, she had not, because she had moved and left no forwarding address. At this time my post office in SC tracked the package, and it had been sitting at the post office in Florida where she left no forwarding address. After 10 days had passed, she finally replied, but not to the first email, and my post office kept saying, "For some reason it was held up at PO in Ft Myers." Well, no wonder: she snuck out of town within 2 weeks and left no forwarding address.

Yesterday PayPal told me that if I sent it back to her Kentucky address, I would be eligible for a refund. Even if they get wise and ship it back to me now, her 14-day refund period has passed, and I am stuck. I smell a rat. She had to know she was moving and chose not to reply. PayPal and eBay always take the seller's side. This has left a very bitter taste in my mouth, and I am done with both! Be leery of eBay and PayPal, as they are thick as two thieves in the night and pass the blame from one to the other, yet over 95% of eBayers insist on PayPal payment. Boycott them, and especially that seller.
