Was petty upset last month when I learned I had to mail order for a specific prescription in order for Independence Blue Cross to pay. So I figured the expense was probably cost effective and was a money saver for everyone... Really? Further inquiry, (the insurance played a round robin of it's not my depart.) revealed it will cost more for mail order of the same Rx, than at a regular Pharm. So for those who might be led to believe mail order is the cheapest source for Rx's, this is not true. IBX's choice to do business with a national chain pharmacy, has eliminated my choice of pharmacy provider completely. I would encourage anyone who is in the process of signing up for benefits to read the fine print. Personally, I will be looking for options come open enrollment.
