I can understand that PGW is very concern about the safety of their employees but courtesy service to their customers is a disgrace. PGW management should at least allow their service termination representatives to view receipts showing a customer paid their bill before the service interruption date. There are no money or checks being exchanged. The representatives will not be required to leave a receipt. Those vehicles are equip with computers or they have direct communications with PGW Collections to confirm a payment. I paid my PGW account and still my service was terminated.

PGW contacted me via phone on Thursday may 19 in reference to the services being terminated on May 23. I promised to make a payment on Friday May 20 but my vehicle was involved in an accident which delayed me with that payment until May 22. PGW representative told me that they would cancelled the Shut-off because of a promise to make a payment.

After speaking with PGW Collections they said that their Representatives are not allowed to transact any collections or confirm any payments at the residences they are servicing. They are just to shut-of the service and leave. I said to the Representative. If an account is paid and a resident have proof to that fact, with a valid receipt that have the PGW account number, a transaction number, the place where the payment was made and the amount? Why, would a customers service be interrupted. This makes no since what-so-ever.
