Wells Fargo, formerly Wachovia Dealer Services, has a piss poor customer service/collections department. I work for a world renown financial organization that deals with customer service and collections. Wells Fargo may be a wealthier company, but they do no belong in the same category as the fine company that I work for. Wells Fargo customer representatives treat their clients as statistics.
When I inquired about making a payment arrangement on a car loan that was two months from being paid off, I was treated rudely. When trying to make a reasonable payment agreement, "customer service" representatives used condescending phrases such as "this is an important payment, " and "just because your car loan is almost paid off, doesn't mean that you don't have to pay." These and other comments, which insult my intelligence, are exactly the type of thing that I, as a customer service representative, could lose my job for saying to a client. Furthermore, working in collections, I know how the economic recession has affected hard working people and their families. One would think that Wells Fargo would understand that I, who am lucky to have a job in this economy, and who is willing to make a reasonable payment arrangement, would treat me with the same respect and dignity that I afford the people to whom I have pledged excellence in customer service. However, Wells Fargo has not done that. I plan on paying off my car loan in two months time, however, I must say, that Wells Fargo Auto Financing SHOULD BE AVOIDED, at all costs, that is, unless of course you like being treated like shit.
