Scammers - prey on human decency - completely lied. The address is even bogus. Fraud!

I was approached at my home by a young african american man dressed in his sunday's best. I was then given his story about wanting to succeed in life by going to college to better himself. Blah blah blah. I really wanted to believe this guy even though all my instincts told me he was lying through his teeth. All I had to do was help him earn points through buying a magazine subscription.

They even told me my neighbors (called them by name) use him for their subscriptions. Very disarming approach. Did I mention my newborn was crying? Toddler running around in underwear? He still persisted. I should have caught on when the magazines not listed he said he could get. But, almost had a heart attack when he gave me the bill for $765. I told him to wait for my husband. He quickly got it down to $265. OUTRAGEOUS! I was suckered by this guy and couldn't get him out of my house. No choice, because this now high pressure salesman was sitting at my table. What did I get myself into?

I wrote a check. Got him out the door. Researched. THe number listed goes to a recording. The address is for an apartment complex. And, they are a common company on this website. I cancelled the check. The bank says this company has no recourse seeing that there isn't even a product. And, I sent a certified letter (copy everything first) within the 3 day cancellation policy in case they try anything in the future.

CANCEL YOUR CHECK AND STAY CLEAR OF THESE GUYS. I wont open my door now for anyone. No girl scouts, and don't even ask me about schoolchildren.
