Young girl - charming little ripoff artist

I'm completely blown away...
A charming young girl with lots zest came to my door one Sunday afternoon selling magazines. At first I explained that I really couldn't afford to purchase any magazines at time especially because I had just bought a few subscriptions as part of a fund raiser for my co-workers son's middle school. This young lady explained that she was trying to get enough points to win a trip and how her mother really didn't want to go door-to-door doing ths type of job, blah, blah, blah... I bought into it. It was a really warm that afternoon. She was so charming in that I offered her a can of Pepsi and allowed her into my home to use my restroom. She agreed to accept my postdated check as well as she put in the $15.00 cash for the processing and handling fee.

Well this took place on 10/27/07. To date, I've not received the magazine, which by the way I ordered Nickelodeon for my 2 young daughters. I have called the phone number on the receipt all different times of the day and I've never got a live person to answer. I only get a machine that says they are helping "other satisfied customers" and to call back or try another extension. I dialed zero for the operator and then it says "that you cannot be connected to the operator at this time." I went on line to their website, which states that it is under reconstruction. There is absolutely nothing valid for reaching this company. This entire sales pitch was a scam.

It saddens me because they are using young children to exploit and the illegal act of scamming people of their hard earned money. Beware of sweet innocence when it comes knocking at your door soliciting. The book cannot be judged by its cover and their innocence is bitter-sweet!
