No line of sight: charged early cancellation fee - billing/customer service

In August of I called to have my service transferred to my new home in Afton from my home in Dewey. A technician came out and said that he could not get a "line of sight" and that it would not be possible for DirectTV to service my area. The technician walked around my house checking for line of sight and I asked him to please go up on the roof to check. After much reluctance he finally did and said he still was unable to acquire "line of sight". I called DirectTv and asked them to send another technician, for a second opinion. I never heard from the 2nd technician. The next that I hear from Directtv was the past due bill showing the early cancellation fee, even though it states in the contract that there will be no cancellation fee if you are unable to acquire "line of sight". I called and spoke with many customer service reps and their supervisors and was told that I should not have been charged this fee but the only way it could be resolved was by writing a letter to the collections department. (I was unaware it had even been sent to collections and have never recieved a letter or phone call from the collections dept to date). Cathy Cook
