Price Match Refused on Special Order LG Range

The low price guarantee at Home Depot makes no sense at all. The advertisement says they will match the price and beat it by 10% if you find a lower price at another retailer. Here is the truth: I was about to order an LG range for $1,499 at Home Depot, and I found that Best Buy had it on sale for $1,274. So I took the Best Buy ad to the Home Depot store in Whittier, CA to get the price match and the 10% beat, as they advertise. They told me the price match does not apply to special orders. That makes no sense to me.

No retailer keeps big items like a refrigerator, washer, dryer or range in stock. I have purchased a lot of appliances lately for my house remodeling, and none of them came from stock. Plus, I recently did a price match at Lowe's for a dishwasher, and they asked no questions and matched the price and beat it by 10% for me. And of course, it was a special order. If Lowe's carried LG, I would not have bothered to get it from Home Depot!

I called customer service the next day, and they told me the same thing. Plus, the service at the store and on the phone is equally horrible, not comparable to Lowe's!
