The re is no new technology or idea in this model. It's been tried and true by numerous merchants with limited success, If they go public which is Andrew' intention... Stay away from the stock unless you're a daytrader - then buy and dump.

Most offers available on Groupon are available by the merchant through their own coupons and discounts. This fosters a built in resentment toward Groupon customers because they are having to pay Groupon half the value. Also, Groupon sells certificates with expiration dates which, are illegal in some states and, in my opinion should be illegal everywhere because if you pay for something you should get the value you paid for, no matter where. This is where a large part of the income is derived from. People buying as gifts and the recipient not using the certificate; people forgetting; or, just people having to deal with everyday life and being unable to use the certificate in the proscribed period of time.
This company is a scam and its behavior unethical.
Their referral program is also a scam. I know of numerous persons who have referred friends who have purchased and have not received credit for the transaction
