Charged Even AFTER canceled Landline - Long Distance Land Line - New Jersey

Horrible Service!

I've been on the phone for the last 30min but can't seem to get in contact to the right dept. Every rep has been transferring me with little success—this is why I'm here on Measured Up.

I've been a loyal AT&T Landline customer, and recently had to relocate so I closed my account.in my past statements I've always paid starting from the 5th of every month to the 4th of the following month. Thus, I called the CS rep to cancel starting from Nov. 5. And Indeed there were no problems, and I had no service starting Nov. 5.

However, unexpectedly I received a bill for the billing cycle Nov5-Dec4, claiming that I made one call on Nov. 4. I called customer service rep (finally got thru) and they insist that I pay the bill because it was during my "billing cycle." I was unaware that the billing cycle "actually" starts on the 4th when all my statements states the 5th.

I feel like I was misinformed by the false dates on the statements, and the original rep I spoke with to cancel my landline did not warn me of the situation.

So far, the case is unresolved. The rep I spoke to claimed that he's the only one working, and he would escalate my case. His superiors may or may not cal me back. What kind of customer service is this AT&T?

I'm very frustrated as the way I've been treated! Please help!
