Philips TV buzzing

Philips TV shipped with thumb drive telling me that the software is defective and needs a patch to prevent it from buzzing. The patch did not work. When I call the 800 number they tell me unless I have a reciept they won't fix it. It was a gift and I only got it Aug. Philips rep says but it was made in March so unless I have the reciept blah blah blah. Are you kidding me? You ship product with a known defect and then refuse to fix it when the customer calls. Never again Philips. Hope it was work it. Plan to tell everyone about this. Search the net, this is a common complaint.
