Sears
Not eligible for rebate - Kenmore Elite Washing machine

Miscellaneous

On Saturday, February 6, my husband and I went to the Sears in Waterford CT, to purchase a washer and dryer. The salesman, Brad Thorpe, was helpful and found us a washer and dryer that we ended up purchasing for a total of $1700. Brad pointed out to us that the washer was eligible for the CT Recovery Appliance Rebate Program. We were going to get a $100 rebate for purchasing this washing machine. He provided us with the paperwork and instructed us to submit this form as soon as we could. We were happy with our purchase. However, when we began to fill out this paperwork, we were disappointed to find out that the rebate was only eligible for residents of Connecticut. We happen to live in Rhode Island. We are upset that Brad was not educated enough to know the eligibility of the rebates. He knew that we lived in RI, since he had to enter our address into the computer. We would have picked out a different washer if we knew that we were not eligible for this rebate. We were anticipating on getting the $100 rebate. We are very disappointed with Brad’s lack of knowledge and are upset that we cannot receive the $100 rebate. We are hoping that Sears would make an exception and give us the $100 rebate, in good faith. It is not our fault that the salesman gave us the wrong information. We appreciate your cooperation regarding this important at matter.

Thank you

Randy and Christene Day
