On September 4 at around 8 or 9:00, I slipped in a huge puddle of water covering at least 1/4 of the aisle. I sat there for quite a while before anybody came. Finally a woman saw me and asked if I needed help. She went and got a manager, which was Steven Wurster. He brought me a motorized cart and helped me to sit on it, because I kept slipping in the water. He completely did his job. He took pictures and filled out the incident report. He made sure I didn't need an ambulance. I decided not to take an ambulance to the hospital, only because I could not afford the price of the ambulance ride. He was great. He said that someone from the corporate office would get in touch with me within 48 hours. This was on a Saturday evening. It was also a holiday weekend, so I gave it til Thursday. When I still hadn't recieved a phone call, I called the store that I fell in. So, Thursday I called and spoke to a different manager. He said that he had never heard anything about it, but he would leave a message for someone to call me the next day, which should have been Friday. I am sitting in my living room writing this on Sunday evening, September 12, still with no phone call. I decided to call the store, yet again, and spoke to the same manager who wrote up my incident report. He informed me that he sent the report, the video tape of my fall, and the pictures he took, and also entered all the information into the computer. It has now been over a week since I fell and I find it so disrespectful, irresponsible, and inconsiterate how this company has handled my "slip and fall" accident. I am already in pain management for my back. I have arthritis and pinched nerves in my neck, I have bad knees, and carpal tunnel in both hands. I don't remember putting my right hand out to break my fall, but I woke up the next day with my right wrist and whole right arm hurting. This company has made me feel like my accident is of no importance to them. I have never dealt with anything like this, but I'm pretty sure that this is not the way it should be handled. I don't know if I should hire a lawyer at this point. My back is killing me and I am going to go have an x-ray done to make sure there is no serious damage. At this point, though, my complaint is not about my accident. It is about the way it has been handled.
