Lost an HP Customer for Life

Bought an HP Pavilion from Costco July. Had to send for repair June (graphic's issue). Came back from repair useable but with top lid loose near hinge in lower right hand corner... Making a clicking sound when opening the lid but functional until January. Started getting worse and clicking every time I opened the case. Contacted HP reps who told me I had no warranty when I had one month left (2 yr Costco) and another year through Amex (three years total). Anyway, argued with half dozen HP techs. Finally got Concierge from Costco involved. HP agreed I had warranty. Sent in... They then refused to fix it when they discovered my warranty was valid and came up with a new twist... They accused me of abusing the pc so my repair would not covered by warranty. Untrue! Talked to half dozen more people. Finally, after one month, they agreed to fix it if I would pay $216. Paid the $216 money. Last week I purchased a brand new VAIO SONY S series laptop from Best Buy. While there, I talked with Best Buy rep who told me I could get more pc for less money with HP. Shared my exortion story and why I would never buy an HP product the rest of my life. Another woman customer overheard my HP after sale service nightmare and thanked me since she was trying to decide between HP and Sony... She bought a Sony too... Hooray! The $216 extortion payment will cost HP an ex-LOYAL customer for life, including hard drives, notebooks, PC's, printers at work and my personal use. I hope to share my HP experience with as many as will listen and alert other potential HP customers to be wary of HP because once they sell their product, they will find every loop hole to get out of honoring their warranty... Bye bye hp! By an hp, try the best, use it one year and get screwed the rest!!!
