Our company purchased $20,000 of cold Tech Equipment in 2006. Since that date we have spent over $2500 in repairs on 4 pieces of the equipment we purchased. A compressor went out in one of our freezers and lucky for us it was under warranty. The policy was that we purchase the part and we would be reimbursed. We purchased the part for $744.17. We filed the report back in September. We called to check on the claim more than once. The paperwork was lost 2 times. We finally asked to speak to the adjustors boss as someone was dropping the ball. He also could find no record of our claim although we had the receipt from faxing it. Finally we received the check on February 19. It was in the amount of $681.16. The vp said they did not reimburse for sales tax! What the h*. Who is suppose to be responsible for it then? It has to be paid, I sure wouldn't have bought a new compressor for the heck of it so I shouldn't have to pay the tax if it is under warranty? If they didn't want to pay the tax, why didn't the company just ship us the part like we wanted? After finding no exclusions about the sales tax in the the warranty, I have once again requested to be reimbursed around $60 in sales tax. DO NOT purchase Cold Tech equipment. Spend a few extra thousand and get something that is going to last. This equipment is barely 3 years old and it sounds like a freight train is coming through my store. I have lost product from freezers going out at night. We have had thermostats break, leaks, just about everything that can go wrong has. Maybe we are unlucky. But 4 out of 8 are not very good statistics.
