Just not What they Used to Be - Kenmore Drye

In October my Kenmore dryer (model 11063942101) stopped heating. I called a shop not close to my home and was referred to A&E which turned out to be Sears Home Services. I accepted the $35 fee for just coming out and a repair person came out as scheduled on October 14 for which I had to take leave from work. He pointed out the crushed outtake vent hose, unkinked it and charged $132 in labor.
It ran for a month and stopped heating again.
The second repair person came out 11/24 and installed a heat relay and charged $57.19.
I then became concerned that something else would break. His retort was that they just didn't make the products like they used to and I should buy a extended service warranty for $94 a year.
What I wanted was some assurance that this time more expertise was applied and I would not have to pay a lot of money next month. This machine is only 6 years old. My last Kenmore apt size dryer was still working after 25 years. This repair man also told me that no machines lasted that long anymore. I think I got poor service, poor attitude, and if that's what I can expect, it's at least time to buy something else - in case Sears wonders why their profits have dropped.
