Mot Roof Deck, Inc Put up poorly constructed/incomplete fence - did not honor warranty/contract - did not respond to any correspondence

We hired Julian Selby of Innovative Concepts and Designs, Inc to construct a fence in the backyard of a beach house in Bowers Beach, Delaware in the summer of 2009. Although Mr. Selby seemed friendly enough and trustworthy - Don't be fooled! He pushed us to have him do other work while he was there - thankfully, we didn't allow him to do so pending our opinion of his work on the fence. What a disaster. Not only are the fence posts bowing, entire sides of the fence are leaning. Panels of the fence blew off during storms (we then noticed that he used nails instead of screws to attach the panels to the posts - what contractor doen't know that this will not hold!). We noticed these issues very soon after the fence was finished, and contacted Julian to have him come by and honor the 1 year warranty we/he signed for any issue we may experience with the fence. He placated us with promises to be there this weekend, next week, etc. He never showed. We later found out, through a former employee of his, that he went out of business. We even sent a certified letter explaining the issues we were having to him and requested he correct the problems as stated in his signed warranty. He refused to accept the certified letter in the mail. We are now exploring other legal action as we have no other alternative.

As a warning to other consumers - don't hire this man to do anything for you. The job will not be done well. Even if you have a warranty - don't be fooled. He will not honor the warranty or return to address any of your concerns - and believe us - you will have numerous.

Finally, we read the other consumer consumer complaints filed against Mr. Selby and his rebuttal. He claimed to have accepted Christ into his heart. If he actually did so, this we question, then why not 'do what Jesus would do'? Take responsibility for your transgressions. Swallow your pride and fix the problems that you created. Above all else, honor Christ by acting and being like Him. We are praying for you - you and all of those who hire you to do work for them - you/they will need it.
